We are the the Dream Squad. Operating out of a secret underground hideout somewhere in Chicago, it is our mission to turn your cinematic dreams into reality. We are Digital Cinematographers. Working in the expanding world of pre-visualization, we offer our collaborators the ability to realize their VFX and other complex sequences through a cinematic lens. We work alongside effects houses, directors, cinematographers, and other pre-viz companies to elevate their projects through exquisite shot selection, camera work, and digital cinematography.

What is Pre-Vis?
Pre-visualization is a collaborative process that generates preliminary versions of shots or sequences using 3D animation and a virtual environment. It enables filmmakers to visually explore creative ideas, plan technical solutions, and communicate a shared vision for an efficient production.
What is Dream Squad?
Dream Squad is a Chicago-based pre-visualization and VFX company created to serve independent filmmakers as well as studios and larger production companies. While Pre-Viz is common on larger studio projects, there is also a tremendous amount of value to the independent filmmaker.
We focus on digital cinematography and camerawork—how to best tell your visual story. Our creative team is made up of filmmakers—“real life” cinematographers, directors, and writers. We want to bring those skills to the worlds of animation and VFX, where our collaborators can often find themselves overburdened with technical concerns. We want to make sure that doesn’t happen. We move beyond the technical aspects of effects building, and serve the filmmakers storytelling needs—creating new tools that prove valuable to first time directors, VFX savvy filmmakers, and everyone in between.
Why "Digital Cinematography?"
We’re not talking about cinematography with digital cameras—that is now just cinematography. We’re talking about bringing the visual language of film into the digital and 3D space. We have found that indie producers and VFX producers often have to work very diligently on tight budgets, and this can be stressful. We want to alleviate some of that stress by providing tangible benefits to our collaborators—shot lists, camera placement, lighting mock-ups, equipment overheads, and other logistical benefits that improve story and reduce the complexity of your production "on the day."
